At E3 2015, The Coalition’s Rod Ferguson announced that Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, and HD upgrade of the Xbox 360 classic, would be coming to PC. Showcased on Xbox One at Microsoft’s E3 2015 press conference, Ultimate Edition for PC will run in 4K and have DX12 support.

When asked if we can expect any other Gears-related news for PC gamers, Ferguson gave a coy response about something that might be announced in the future, which could hint at the possibility of the recently-announced Gears of War 4 coming to PC at some point.

This announcement reaffirms Microsoft’s commitment to making a PC a huge part of the Xbox family with the help of Windows 10. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will only contain the first game in the franchise, but it will incorporate elements of the later entries in its multiplayer, which is currently in Beta now on Xbox One.
